Going on Maternity Leave - See You in August!

I never made a formal announcement, but as of this past Monday I am 37 weeks pregnant! Maternity leave, here I come!

This entire pregnancy has been a whirlwind of emotions, unexpected stressors, and a vague feeling of calm before the storm. I am expecting another little girl, and with just a 3 year age gap I am a tad overwhelmed at what to expect! I hear about regressions and more tantrums, less sleep, loss of routine... but what about the good things? What about the first time my oldest says she loves her baby sister? What about soaking in all of the newborn snuggles at 1 am while my oldest sleeps?

With both my girls we struggled to conceive. They are an absolute blessing, and we are beyond excited to have this little one make her entrance and complete our party of four.

What I hope comes out of this postpartum period is confidence in myself, and that I can do hard things. The ability to turn away inquiries and give business to fellow photographers with knowledge that what goes around comes around. Community over competition has always been a benefit to me, and I am more than happy to lean into it now. Now is the time that my babies are babies, and not kids. Now is the time to take a step back and let others get ahead while I rest.
